Here is a quick little video on how to update Joomla 1.6.x to Joomla 1.7.

The process takes a few minutes to download the new version from the Joomla.org website so please be patient.

It is also worth noting that the fOpen php function needs to be enabled on your web server in order for it to download the xml update files from the Joomla.org servers. If fOpen is turned off for what ever reason you will not be able to do the simple one click upgrade for Joomla.

K2 can generate a customisable calendar that can be placed into any module position, pulling data from specified items. A typical use of the calender may be to publish specific items from a category, and display them via clicking the relevent dates on the calender itself.

To enable this, click EXTENSIONS located in the top menu bar, and select MODULE MANAGER from the from down menu that appears.

The following screen allows you to modify the settings of the module. On the left you will see a field for the TITLE. In my example I have decided the call the module "Sports Cars Releases" becuase I want the calender to only display items from the Sports Cars catetogory.

The option SHOW TITLE allows you to toggle on or off the title of the calnder module - while the option ENABLED allows you to toggle the modules published status.

The remaining options on the left side of the screen relate to the positioning of the module. You can see that in my example I have chosen to display the module in the left column of my website, and that it appears on every page.
