The Anatomy of JCE Editor

Your website uses an advanced Rich Text Editor called 'Joomla Content Editor' or JCE. In this chapter, you'll learn how to make the most of this feature to enhance the presentation of data in your website.

Thanks to the rich text editor, you can stylize your text just like the way you do in a word processing software such as 'Microsoft Word'. Type in whatever text that is needed for the article, select the piece of text that needs the formatting, and click on the appropriate button to apply any desired style. These are some important buttons you should know about :

Make the selected text

  • Bold,
  • Italic, or
  • Underlined
  • Align the selected text as Justify, Left, Center, Right
  • Set the colour of the selected text,
  • Highlight selected text
  • Indent the selected text left or right
  • Undo or Redo the previous action
  • Create a numbered or bulleted list
  • Cut, Copy or Paste selected text
  • Create a Table ( You will be prompted for the number of rows, cloumns and other details )
  • Create a link using the selected text
  • Insert an image
