Linking to an Email address

In some situations you may want to link an email address directly to the email itself. This will cause the browser to invoke the default mail program on the computer, such as Microsoft Outlook, and create a new blank email to the desired email address. Linking to an email address is quite easy to do in Joomla.

A link to an email address (hyperlink) may be inserted into an Item as follows:

  1. Open the Item you wish to add an image or document link to:
    K2 > Items > selected Item
  2. Locate and highlight the text you wish to use as the email link.
  3. Select the Insert/edit link button on the JC Editor.

  4. Select the E-mail button on the top right area of the advanced link editor window and enter the email address and subject into the appropriate fields.
    e.g.
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  5. Select the E-mail button on the top right area of the advanced link editor window and enter the email address and subject into the appropriate fields.
    e.g.
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  6. Click OK and Insert. The email link will now be displayed in the Item text.

* Clicking the Cancel button closes the screen without inserting a link.
